Miguel L. Knochel, MD

Dr. Knochel said he approaches each child as his or her own unique person, deserving of respect.  “There is quite a wide variety of normal in behavior and development, and we should let kids be different.  The challenge is, when the child is not functioning well, deciding what is out of the normal range.  Even then, we focus on the child’s strengths and talents.”

At Primary Children’s, Dr. Knochel was on various teams of doctors who cared for the sickest children in four states.  But he also spent part of his residency at South Main Public Health Clinic in Salt Lake.  There he saw his own patients on a continuing basis.  He says he felt especially useful there because he speaks Spanish fluently.
